Mr. Gong Shitao, a teacher from the School of Electronic and Information Engineering of Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU), was awarded the Guangxi May 1st Labor Medal in recognition of his outstanding contributions to teaching and education, technological research and development, as well as social services.

Gong Shitao is a core faculty member of the Electronic Information major at LZPU's School of Electronic and Information Engineering. He also serves as the founder of the Intelligent Connected Vehicle and Visual Perception Master Skills Studio under the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Industry. Having worked in the fields of electronic information and artificial intelligence for many years, he consistently upholds the spirit of craftsmanship in his pursuit of excellence. He has received numerous honors in his professional field, including the Excellence Award at the 18th National Youth Vocational Skills Competition ("Revitalization Cup"), the First Prize at the Guangxi Youth Vocational Skills Competition, and the First Prize for Outstanding Technological Innovation Achievements in Guangxi's Automobile Industry. He has also been recognized as a Guangxi Technical Expert and a Longcheng Technical Expert. Through his professional competence, Mr. Gong fully embodies the dedication and sense of responsibility as a vocational education teacher in the new era.

As a vocational educator, Gong Shitao remains true to the core mission of fostering virtue and cultivating talent. He devotes himself to teaching and innovatively applies the philosophy of "promoting learning and teaching through competitions." He has guided students in various skills competitions, leading them to win numerous gold and silver awards at the autonomous regional level, and has been repeatedly honored as an Excellent Instructor. At the same time, he actively assumes social responsibilities. He encourages students to participate in rural revitalization initiatives and support the development of vocational education in ASEAN countries. By closely integrating professional expertise with societal needs, Mr. Gong embodies the spirit of model workers and craftsmen through dedicated action, fully demonstrating the sense of responsibility and mission of the LZPU community.

In industry-university-research integration and technological research, Gong Shitao has also achieved remarkable results. Responding to the industrial development needs of Liuzhou, he has led more than ten industry research and development projects through the Master Skills Studio. He guides students in the studio to explore the practical application of AI technologies and actively promotes the deep integration of artificial intelligence with local intelligent manufacturing industries. In doing so, he effectively advances the role of vocational education in empowering the transformation and upgrading of regional industries, boosts the high-quality development of intelligent manufacturing in Liuzhou, and puts into practice LZPU's industry-education integration model of "Three Integrations and Four Sharings."

The award of the Guangxi May 1st Labor Medal is not only a high recognition of Gong Shitao's persistent dedication and hard work, but also a vivid reflection of LZPU's long-standing commitment to vocational education and the cultivation of talents with strong craftsmanship and professional dedication. At present, LZPU is fully advancing the high-quality development of vocational education. The university continues to deepen industry-education integration and empower regional economic and industrial development.
