From News Center (Text by Zhou Qipang, Academic Affairs Department; Photos by Gan Xinyu, Cai Hanxiang, Qin Yejing, Media Center) From March 12 to 16, 2026, LZPU successfully organized two higher vocational group competitions in “Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Installation, Operation and Maintenance” and “Art Design” for the 2026 Guangxi Vocational College Skills Competition, hosted by the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. A total of 404 contestants from 101 teams representing 44 institutions across the region took part in the intense competition, demonstrating strong professional skills and a commendable spirit.

The competition was aligned with the World Vocational College Skills Competition, presenting multiple challenges including a tight schedule, heavy tasks and high standards. As the organizer, our university took it as an important opportunity to test the achievements of the "National Top-notch Vocational Institutions and Programs Plan" construction and enhance its social service capacity.A special leading group, headed by university leaders, was promptly established to oversee overall planning and ensure meticulous arrangements. Led by the Academic Affairs Department, a collaborative mechanism was formed involving multiple departments—including the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Art, the Engineering Training Center, the Logistics Support Office, the Publicity Department of the Party Committee, the General Office, the Security Office, and the Information Technology Service Center. Through this joint effort, every aspect of the event—such as competition organization, technical support, on-site services, and security—was carefully refined, providing a solid foundation for the smooth execution of the competition.

During the competition, the venues were filled with thrilling moments. The contestants performed with composure and skill, demonstrating the solid professional knowledge and strong vocational ethics of vocational students in the new era. The judging panel strictly adhered to the standards, ensuring fairness, impartiality, and authority with a rigorous approach. Volunteers were actively engaged throughout the venues, offering warm smiles and thoughtful service, becoming a heartwarming part of the event.

This event has offered a comprehensive test of our university's capability in organizing largescale competitions.LZPU will continue to refine its outstanding talent development model of “promoting teaching, learning and reform through competitions”.We will translate competition standards into teaching standards, and apply competition experience to classroom instruction,so as to cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled personnel to serve the high-quality development of the regional economy.
